New foundation collects guns to convert weapons into art
VALLEJO — A program that aims to prevent unwanted guns from ending up on the streets – and then turn the weapons into works of art – kicked off its campaign against violence Saturday with a gun buyback at the county fairgrounds.
The buyback provided the raw material for that future artwork to support a single goal: ensure that no other mothers lose their children to senseless violence.
