Dismantled Guns, Bullets Secured for Bay Area ‘Art of Peace’ Project
Pati Poblete’s healing process continues, much to the delight of commissioned artists on a mission to turn their vision of turning dismantled weapons into a worthy aspect of the “Art of Peace.”
Eight artists sifted through various metal parts and ammunition neatly arranged by Shannon O’Hare at Obtainium Works, hopefully matching the proposal that impressed the selection committee.
The project, “just an idea a few months ago,” is one of the components of the Robby Poblete Foundation, named after Pati’s 23-year-old son shot and killed Sept. 21, 2014, at a Vallejo motel.
