RPF Completes First Gun Buyback

The Robby Poblete Foundation, along with our partners, the Vallejo Police Department and The Eric Reyes Foundation, held its first gun buyback on Aug. 26, 2017, at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo. The event included a list of dignitaries who spoke on the importance of the event and the impact on gun violence in our communities. They included: Congressman Mike Thompson; Solano County District Attorney, Krishna Abrams;  Solano County Supervisor Erin Hannigan; and Vallejo Mayor Bob Sampayan. RPF founder and executive director, Pati Poblete, also spoke on the significance of the event to her and the foundation. The buyback netted 66 handguns, 111 long guns (shotguns and rifles); and three assault rifles.
